And hello everyone who’s following us with a big interest in the reenactment scene, but are not reenactors themselves. We know you’re spying on us, and this post is for you.<\/div>\n
Sletten has in just a few years grown to be one of the largest Viking reenactment events in the world. We are completely non-profit, and run entirely by volunteers from the scene. Sletten is an event for Vikings, by Vikings.<\/div>\n
Sletten is also a closed, private event, which is a little unusual. Most historical festivals are funded by visitors, but Sletten is something we do only for ourselves. While it warms our hearts that “civilians” (as we lovingly call you) hear lots of intriguing things about us, we cannot welcome you physically. We will ask you to leave.<\/div>\n

So how can you join Sletten? If fighting isn’t quite your cup of tea, worry not. Many groups focus more on other aspects from the Viking Age, such as different forms of crafts, or just community building and social activities.
