For Fighters

Sletten has it origins in the fighting scene, and training and battles continue to be a large part of the Sletten experience. We are mainly focused on Western Style, so both the large trainings and the Sletten Battle will be fought under that system. Other styles are of course welcome to create their own trainings and events during the week.

During the week, you can expect training, workshops and special events like tournaments and forest fighting. The landscape around Sletten offers many exciting possibilities.

Here are some resources, you might find useful:

Training

Training will follow Western Style rules and weapon regulations. We will have a comprehensive program of great workshop and fun games, all created by you. If you feel you have something to contribute, please let us know.

  • Training will be in authentic gear all week, like you are used to in Trelleborg and Ribe. The exception is shoes.
  • Training will be every day from Tuesday till Friday from 11-16. We will have workshops and games as well. The final program will be posted on-site.
  • If you have an idea for a workshop, please write to us at fighters@slettenvikings.dk

The Battle of Sletten

The Sletten Battle will take place Friday and Saturday, also following Western Style rules. To participate, you must be part of the training Thursday, so we can divide the sides equally.

The format for the fights and choice of battleground is dynamic, and will be decided at the event.

Safety

You also need to be safe. Your safety is vouched for by your group. If your group is unfamiliar to us, we will test your safety. If you are not safe, you will not be able to train or fight in the battles.

New Group?

We welcome new fighters to the scene and hope that Sletten will be a gathering point for all fighters. It is great to see the scene have evolved so far and look forward to see you at Sletten.

In order for you to participate at Sletten as a fighter, you will need to apply beforehand as a group and train regularly in our system to simon@slettenvikings.dk.

We will need the following when you contact us:

  • General contact-information ( mail, contact person, country, address for the group)
  • Does your group train “Western Style” and/or other systems?
  • When was the group formed?
  • Any groups you regularly train with and/or visit markets and training-events during the year?
  • Pictures of your group and your training.

NOTE: We recommend new groups to get in contact with other groups and participate the first year under their invitation to experience the market with Vikings whom have been at Sletten before. It’s a great way to see the market and have
