The association “Rytterne af Sletten” would like to welcome a lot of horse people to the event this summer.

The Viking Moot are an old tradition among the horse people, which dates back to Moesgaard’s early days. In 2020, we started a new tradition at Sletten. Every summer we go home with the best memories, only to long for next summer.

The horse field is near the camp. We each set up our own paddocks and take care of our horses ourselves during the week. You therefore have to bring everything you need in items of fencing material, water buckets, and so on. The paddocks must be cleaned completely before leaving the site.

Hay can be purchased additionally upon registration.

Why should I come?

  • In the area by Sletten you can enjoy long horse rides in the beautiful forest. The almost endless paths in hilly terrain and with a view of the lake, makes it quite unique.
  • You can enjoy the ride alone or with other enthusiastic riders. 
  • We intend to arrange guided tours, so you don’t get lost on the first days. 
  • On horseback, you will be able to enter in collaboration with the warriors about the safety of their training / matches and also as couriers in the battle.

How can I join?

As a member of the association “Rytterne af Sletten” you can join the event with your horse.
