For visitors

Hello, all wonderful curious civilians (that’s what we lovingly call you non-reenactors). We thank you for your interest in the Viking Age, Viking Age reenactment, and the wonderful community we have.

Sletten is a closed, private event, and not open to the public. This means that you simply cannot come visit, even if you really want to. Only reenactors from a pre-approved reenactment group, who have signed up and paid their admission fee, are allowed to spend time at the events. Everyone else will be asked to leave.

We know, we know, Sletten looks really cool, and Viking Markets and Festivals usually love visitors. We are the odd ones out, when we ask you to not come to our event.

However, we would still like to create this page of resources for you. Recruitment starts with curiosity, and we have some recommendations for all you Viking age lovers.

Week 29
Trelleborg Vikingfestival

Week 30
Moesgaard Viking Days

Week 31
Ribe Viking Warriors!

Join a reenactment group

If you want to do more than just visit, and are wondering how to become a reenactor, we have some tips here too. There are all sorts of Viking Age reenactment groups all over Denmark, and most of them recruit at least once a year! Some of them focus on fighting, some focus on crafting, and some just want to be social, part of a community, and have fun.

If you are interested in becoming a reenactor, and can’t find a group near you, we will offer you this: Reach out to us on info@slettenvikings.dk, tell us where you live, and we will see if we know someone near you.

Have a great summer!
