Hello Vikings!
Sletten is still weeks away, but we’re preparing you now: With over 90% of you arriving on Monday, we’re going to need some pep in your step. All this info will be sent to our group contacts, but the more people who are prepared, the more prepared we are!
Plan your block
All group contacts within each block have been put in contact with each other. We highly recommend (well, Panda demands!) that you have a quick chat with each other to pre-plan the block layout. With a general plan, it’s easier for all groups to make space for each other, even if you don’t arrive at the same time.
Monday arrival
It is not possible to arrive earlier than Monday. We have extended the arrival hours, and the camp grounds will be open for cars from 07:00 to 19:00 Monday 20th. It is not allowed to enter the general area before this. The scouts are working hard to clear the area for us, and Viking cars making a queue by the parking lot, blocking the road, or taking up space on random fields, will impact their ability to work.
If you arrive in Denmark (more specifically Ry) a bit early, please find a comfortable parking spot in the city center and wait there. It’s a very nice little place to spend some time.
Be quick
In total, we’re expecting about 500 cars to come through the fields in one day. This means we need you all to unload, park your car, then put up the tent, and THEN be social.
Be patient
There’s going to be a traffic jam. There’s going to be a random queue. Be patient with each other. Be kind. We’re asking you to be quick, but we’re not asking you to be panicked. Do you know what takes a lot of time? Car accidents.
Help out where you can
When you’re done with your personal camp, we encourage everyone with extra energy to help out their friends. Remind others to move empty cars over to the parking lot. There’s no other way of putting this: It’s going to be a group project, but we will make it work!
All the best
