The Hands of Sletten

Hello Vikings!

Most things at Sletten work because people care. Because at the right moment, someone steps in and makes sure things happen. This year we hope to create a small crew for exactly that đź‘‹
As the event grows, we realise we need some extra hands, and we need some sort of a system. We hope the Hands of Sletten can be a team of three people who help keep the shared spaces running smoothly throughout the event. By noticing, nudging, and occasionally just getting things done.
  • When evening falls, lanterns find their way up.
  • Tarps and awnings stay tight, and don’t flap themselves into a chaos.
  • Ropes and markings make sense when you walk past them.

The role won’t be enforcing rules or being an authority. It’s more about being the person who spots what’s needed, and takes a bit of ownership. Maybe it’s just a small thing needing a fix. Maybe you need to pull in a few willing hands nearby. Most of the time, it’s simple and a bit satisfying. Every now and then, it might be a little inconvenient. That’s part of the deal.

In return, you get the usual volunteer benefits, a clear role, and the quiet satisfaction of being part of why Sletten just… works. By sharing the tasks among three people, we believe the workload should be a maximum of an hour a day. Maybe a little more on arrival and departure day, and a little less mid-week if the weather is nice.

If you like this kind of role, you might recognize yourself already. Reach out to Ivan, Head of Organisation, at ivan@slettenvikings.dk if you believe this is something you’d like to be a part of. He can tell you all about the tasks we need help with, answer any questions, and maybe tempt you with some cookies.

All the best!
