Be kind to the scouts

Have you checked the calendar? Well, we did, and it’s already July! Which means Sletten is just a few weeks out. Where did the time go???

As the market is getting closer and we are reminding you that it will only be possible to drive your cars onto the field from Monday at 07:00 in the morning, to 20:00 in the evening. If you arrive earlier, please wait in the cozy town of Ry. Do not enter the Sletten area before 07:00.

The reason is a scout event happening the week prior. The scouts are working hard to clear the area for us, but Viking cars being in their way will impact their ability to work. They start clearing our campgrounds to guarantee that everything is ready for us, but the scout event is larger than our “little” Viking gathering, and they’re using fields we haven’t even touched yet

Because of this, there might be a little scout traffic for a few days. They are doing their absolute best to not disturb us, but obviously they need finish the job. If you find a tired civillian volunteer borrowing a toilet, give them a pat on the shoulder and be patient. We’re all volunteering to have fun with our hobbies, and they are hard working nerds, just like us.

The same scout event happened in 2022, and will happen again in 2030.

PS: In June we sent all of you the official arrival hours 07-19, but we agreed to extend it to 20:00.
